New Year's Resolutions 2009

For me 2009 is so exciting as I look forward to balancing motherhood and my scrapbooking. As a first time mom I am faced with a lot less sleep for sure! I may not be getting as much time in my craft room as I did before, but I am appreciating what time I do have in my craft room more than ever.

So my top 3 resolutions for 2009 would be:
1. Use my time in my craft room to its full potential
2. Share more with others (via newsletter, blog, classes, etc)
3. Finish what I start

What are your resolutions?
Hope you'll share by leaving a comment here...

Merry Christmas 2008 & Happy New Year 2009

I'm not really sure where the Christmas Holidays have gone. It seems as though one minute I was trying to prepare for the holidays and the next minute I should be putting away the ornaments, stockings & Christmas tree.

We celebrated our 1st Christmas as a mommy & daddy, so it was fun to have some toys & tiny clothes under the Christmas tree this year. Kylie even got to go to the the mall to have her picture taken with Santa and ask for Holiday Barbie 2008, which Santa did bring her!

I guess it's not just the holidays that have passed by so quickly. But the entire autumn season. With a new baby I find myself as any new mom, trying to juggle baby care with regular housekeeping and time in my craft room. As you may have guessed the baby has been winning here!

As I get more settled into my motherhood role here I am looking forward to getting at some of my neglected scrapbooking projects. Like most people, I have several unfinished projects that I want to finish. I have a messy craft room & need to update you on its evolution. and I have so many new ideas and projects that I want to explore. So many rubber stamping techniques that I want to try!

So I have decided that I need a "plan of action"!

I need to start with my New Year's Resolutions for 2009 or at least a list of some goals for the year to give me some sort of direction for my scrapbooking projects and my blog. So please stay tuned...

"Tag - You're It" for Christmas!

Handmade tags are so fun and easy to create. They add an extra special touch to a gift anytime of the year.

With Christmas just around the corner - now is the perfect time to create some fabulous hand stamped Christmas tags to adorn your gifts this holiday season.

Here are a few that I've stamped.

Holiday ornament tag made using the fabulous Coluzzle from Stampin' Up!

Mittens stamped using the Scandinavian Season stamp set from Stampin' Up!

I just love the jumbo eyelets from Stampin' Up! and they are so easy to attach to your project using the Crop-a-dile.

This is my favourite tag that I've created so far.

I just love the kiwi kiss & pacific point cardstock colours together! (from Stampin' Up!)

The snowman's scarf and hat were coloured using the blender pen & pacific point ink from Stampin' Up!

How cute are these 3x3 tags?
I was inspired by A Stamp in Thyme's 3x3 card trios.

First Snow

Yesterday we got our first snow here. Not only the first snow of the season for us, but baby-K's first snow! And what perfect timing as I was having a Christmas card class in the evening.
So I dug out my favourite Christmas CDs, put some apple cider to warm on the stove and placed a candy cane at each spot on the 2 work tables.

We made 10 cards in total - 5 designs, making 2 of each. Here are 3 of the 5 Christmas card designs we did.

Halloween Sweet Pea

Not sure where the last 6 weeks have gone!
I am happy to say that we welcomed our daughter into this world on October 3. She is an absolute joy and we are well on our way to celebrate her many "firsts".

We enjoyed her 1st Halloween and she even went to her 1st Halloween party as a pea pod.

Batty for Halloween

I just can't get enough of the Batty for You™ stamp set from Stampin' Up! So I made up a bunch of Halloween treat bags for a Halloween party at the Peek-a-Boos Cafe. Taking my baby girl - it will be her 1st Halloween. (Our due date is October 15)

I stamped Halloween book marks to put inside the treat bags & also stamped treat bag toppers.
